Our Objective
Our mission is to provide a lifelong home/shelter for abandoned children. Presently all the children we look after have significant physical or mental disabilities. We aim to provide for “normal” abandoned children as well.
Our Solution
Established in 2010 with 3 children, the foundation today provides food, clothing and therapy to 15 children with varying disabilities. Icha is planning to expand its capability by adopting another 5 children in the near future. The shelter itself is spread across an acre of land facing the scenic Kondakarla lake, located 50 km from Vizag city. It is managed mainly by the founder Madhu Tugnait with a team of caretakers, a physiotherapist, kitchen staff and teachers.
Employment Philosophy
Our group philosophy is based on providing employment to adults from lower income groups from Vizag and its surrounding districts. With the exception of accounting, administration and communications, we have focussed on building a team based on each individual’s capability and passion to serve the cause of abandoned children.
